Mentorship Program

The North Carolina Optometric Society recognizes that mentorship is an invaluable method of networking with optometrists across the state of North Carolina, bringing prospective and young optometrists into the mix in an effort to increase civic engagement and build new foundations for growth.

Our 2022 Leadership Program participants, Dr. Ali Jaffry and Dr. Will Sawyer, recognized this need and decided to come together and create a Mentorship Program as part of their group project that they presented to the NCOS Executive Council back in September.

Mentees

We are seeking students, new licensees, and young ODs (practicing 10 years or less) that have an interest in being connected with a North Carolina optometrist. You will answer several questions on the sign up form that will help the Membership committee match you with the appropriate mentor.

We understand the rigorous nature of optometry school and the arduous nature of working full-time, but we ask that you remain in email correspondence and/or meet via zoom or in-person at least once a month for at least 12 months. If you are interested in signing up to be mentee, please sign up below
